It is found in the Amazon Basin in Brazil (Manaus), northeastern Peru, Ecuador (Sucumbíos and Orellana Provinces), Colombia (Amazonas, Caquetá, and Vaupés Departments), Guyana, and French Guiana, possibly wider. Some earlier records refer to Osteocephalus buckleyi.
